Transportation

We are encouraging festival participants to rent bicycles and explore the local community during their visit to Yangshuo. Each festival participant will be given detailed information at registration about bike rental options. The festival organizers will negotiate prices for 1-day, 2-day and 3-day rental packages from local businesses. Our goals for using bicycles as the primary form of festival transportation are to minimize our environmental impact and to encourage interaction with the local community.

The festival committee will work with local villagers to provide them the opportunity to sell water, food and other items at key crags during the weekend of the festival. While these activities will not be managed by the festival, we hope that providing an opportunity for villagers and climbers to interact will help to strengthen climber/villager relationships. Doing so is critical to ensuring a sustainable climbing environment in Yangshuo.
