Giving Back

One of the Festival’s two goals is to support the sustainable development of rock climbing in the Yangshuo community. To that end, all Festival costs are covered by the sponsors so that all money raised from modest entry fees can be donated back to the local Yangshuo community to fund projects that further the sustainable and safe development of rock climbing.

The YSCF Organizing Committee funds initiatives directly, through the Yangshuo Climbing Association, and through the Yangshuo Access Initiative.

To date, the YSCF has funded projects to replace anchors and bolts at numerous climbing crags, the construction of permanent toilets at White Mountain and The Egg crags, and the construction of a permanent bouldering wall at the Yangshuo Sports Stadium.
